The opening of Warlamis’s “MOUNT ATHOS” exhibition in Portiano, Lemnos, took place with great success.
The collection of the late Greek expatriate, which was presented on our remote island, will remain until the end of July.

The opening ceremony was presided over by the President of KEDE, Mr. Lazaros Kyrizoglou, the Mayor of Lemnos, Ms. Eleonora Georga and the Honorary President of the Piramatiko Ergastiri Verginas, Ambassador Mr. Konstantinos Piperigos.

The renowned collection of the late Warlamis was presented at the invitation of the Municipality of Lemnos and prominent Lemnians who attended the exhibition of Alexander the Great’s collection last year at the BIBLIOTHECA ALEXANDRINA in Egypt.

The exhibition was jointly organized by the Piramatiko Ergastiri Verginas and the Mount Athos Photo Archive.
Pavlos Trohopoulos and Asterios Nenos from the Piramatiko Ergastiri guided both dignitaries and members of the public who attended the exhibition.
This multifaceted collection by Warlamis was presented with great success at the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessaloniki and the Christian Museum in Athens, and in 2013 it was the subject of a grand presentation at the European Parliament in Brussels. In September 2026, it will be presented at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, and the opening ceremony will be presided over by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria Daniel and His All-Holiness our Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

The exhibition in Lemnos was supported by a Greek living abroad and a true patriot, who, in difficult times, keeps Hellenism alive in Odessa, Ukraine, and has a deep love for his ancestral island of Lemnos, Mr. Pantelis Boubouras.
